Leadership
The Anaesthesia Division is led by Prof. Mahesh Vakamudi, who joined in 26/08/1994. He also chairs the Chief Operating Officer position in medical centre, President of IACTA, Honorary fellowship from IACTA, Honorary fellowship in TEE and Member of editorial board of 3 national journals. He is a graduate of Guntur Medical College. He completed anaesthesiology training at KMC Manipal and has trained in Houston/UK.
Prof. Mahesh Vakamudi is best known for his work and research in cardiothoracic, vascular, Pediatric and other complicated surgical procedures. He led the anaesthesia team to provide anaesthesia for 80 surgical procedures per day under various modalities like General anaesthesia, subarachnoid block, Epidural anaesthesia, Regional nerve block (USG and nerve locater guided), TIVA, MAC and conscious sedation and comprehensive clinical care to all surgical specialties including cardiac anaesthesia, neuro anaesthesia, anaesthesia for organ transplantation, labour analgesia and acute/chronic pain service in 35 operating rooms and 5 other offsite locations.
