About the Department

Department of general medicine was started in the year 1985.
We provide care for more than 20,000 patients annually for both inpatients and outpatients (The figure highlighted is the IP and OP census).
To provide holistic care for the patients and attend to cross referrals.
To project, preventive medicine as an inseparable and invaluable component of General Medicine.
The Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments of Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. The physicians of Sri Ramachandra University are committed to applying the latest medical knowledge and technology to meet the needs of the patients. Consists of outpatient and inpatient services. Outpatient services are available on all days, including holidays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The department also conducts community camps where screening for various medical problems like Diabetes, Hypertension, Bronchial Asthma etc., takes place. The team consists of Senior Consultants (7) & Consultants (6) Associate Consultants (7) and many junior doctors.
The General Medicine Service develops specific treatment plans for individuals and families, often making use of SRMC’s vast array of innovative medical technologies. Physicians from the General Medicine Section also play an important role in the university teaching service of the internal residency program at SRU, contributing to SRMCs commitment to educating our future health professionals.
