This bus has a mammogram unit for detecting early cancerous changes in breast, ultrasound unit and facilities to take pap smear for early detection of cervical cancer. The inauguration was held amidst the august presence of Mrs. V. Amudhavalli IAS, Commissioner of Social welfare (Govt of Tamil Nadu), Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor, SRIHER, Rtn. Mr. Anirudh Roy Chowdry, Rotary International director, and Rtn. Dr. Nandakumar, District governor. This project worth Rs. 2.85 crore sponsored by the Rotary club, Vadapalani will be dedicated to serve unprivileged women. The mobile cancer detection bus will be in service for the downtrodden women across Tamil Nadu facilitated by the doctors of SRIHER.
