Dept.of Physiology organized its first ‘Alumni Activity’ by conducting a workshop on Reference Management in Scientific Writing on 13th July 2018. Dr. K. Muthu Prathibha (05-‘06 Alumna), Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Physiology, Saveetha Medical College, Thandalam, Chennai was the resource person. 23 participants attended.

Faculty of Dental Sciences conducted the Tmt. Janaki M. G. R. Endowment Oration – 2018 on the topic, ‘Dentistry in Changing Times’ on 7th July 2018. The oration was delivered by Prof. Dibyendu Mazumder, President, Dental Council of India. 300 faculty and students attended.

Dept. of Microbiology conducted the 1st Workshop on Laboratory Techniques in Molecular Biology and Clinical Virology – ACCENDO (partially funded by ICMR) from 25th to 30thJune 2018. Prof. G. Sridharan, Former Head and Prof. Rajesh Kannangai, Head, Dept. of Clinical Virology, CMC, Vellore were the guests. 18 participants across India attended.

Dept. of SLHS in collaboration with the Commissionerate for the Welfare of Differently Abled, Govt. of Tamil Nadu conducted a seminar on Assessment and Intervention for Children with Feeding and Swallowing Disorders on 26th & 27th July 2018. 35 professionals participated.

Pharmacy Education Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy along with Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi organized a Continuing Education Program on Developing strategies for the Effective Implementation of Revised Pharmacy Curriculum from 16th to 18th July 2018. Dr. B. Suresh, President, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and Prof. K. Chinnasamy, President, Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council were the chief guests. Dr. S. Jayakar, Registrar, Vinayaka Missions Research Foundations (DU), Salem; Dr. T. K. Ravi, Principal, College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Coimbatore; Mr. J. Jayaseelan, Managing Director, Delvin Formulations, Chennai; Dr. L. Ramanathan, APEX Laboratories, Chennai; Dr. V. Gopal, Principal, College of Pharmacy, Registrar (Academic), MTPG & RIHS, Government of Puducherry were the guest faculty members. 32 teaching staff from 16 Pharmacy colleges across South India participated.

Dept. of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Faculty of Dental Sciences hosted the 17th National PG Convention of the Indian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists on 7th & 8thJuly 2018. A pre-convention program on training in instrumentation techniques was also held which was attended by 70 participants. Dr. Dibyendu Mazumdar, President and Dr. Sabyasachi Saha, Secretary, Dental Council of India were the special guests. The convention included 14 keynote lectures and an interactive quiz competition. 450 delegates from all over the country benefited.

Dept. of Clinical Psychology organized an exhibition on the theme, Psychological Testing for Effective Living – Psyche-view on 7th July 2018. 330 participants participated.

Dept. of Clinical Psychology, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute organized a symposium on Basic Pharmacotherapeutics for Psychologists on 4th July 2018. A total of 159 participants, including UG and PG Psychology students and faculty members from various colleges throughout Tamil Nadu participated.

The Sports Club of Faculty of Pharmacy and students of final yr., B. Pharm. & IV yr., Pharm. D. conducted an intercollegiate sports meet on 2nd July 2018. Students from seven pharmacy colleges in and around Chennai participated. The overall championship was shared by Sri Ramachandra College of Pharmacy and C. L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, Chennai.
