Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry conducted an Analytical Skill Development Program with the theme, ‘UV Visible Spectroscopy – from Material to Applications’ on 15th December 2018. A hands-on-training session on ‘UV Visible Spectroscopy’ was part of the program. 50 delegates attended.

The alumni chapter of the Faculty of Physiotherapy organized a hands-on training workshop in Role of Myofascial Continuum in Upper Quarter Dysfunctions on 12th December 2018. Mr. G. Prabhu Raja, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Sports Sciences, MAHE, Manipal was the resource person. 20 alumni attended.

Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Technology and Research organized the ‘2nd Prof. S. P. Thyagarajan Endowment Oration in Biomedical Sciences, Technology and Research’ on Making Drugs out of DNA and RNA by Prof. K. N. Ganesh, Founder – Director, IISER, Tirupati on 3rd December 2018. 354 people attended.

Dept. of Clinical Nutrition conducted a regional symposium and workshop with the theme, 3Ds of Swallowing – Deglutition, Dysphagia and Diet on 30th November & 1st December 2018. Ms. Uthara U., Chief Dietitian, SIMS Hospital, Vadapalani, Chennai, Mr. K. V. Vijayakumar, Asst. Prof., Dept. of SLHS, Mr. A. Arun Aloysius Magesh, Administrator, Vidya Sudha, Prof. A. J. Hemamalini, Head, Dept. of Clinical Nutrition, Dr. Lakshmi Venkatesan, Assoc. Prof., Dept. of SLHS, Dr. Kundhala Ravi, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Clinical Nutrition and VIMP team, Vidya Sudha, SRIHER (DU) consisting of Ms. K. Sujatha & Ms. S. Kumudha, Special Educators, Ms. A. Kalpana, Occupational Therapist & Ms. K. Kousalya, Speech Therapist were the resource persons. 250 students & faculty members from various colleges and dietitians from various hospitals benefited.

The alumni chapter of the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a Personality Development Program on 29th November 2018. Mr. Sakthi P. Kandan, Professional Trainer & Industrialist, Chennai was the resource person. Around 300 students and 50 alumni participated.

Faculty of Pharmacy
Faculty of Pharmacy conducted the 57th National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 26th to 29th November 2018. Dr. L. Ramanathan, Asst. General Manager, Regulatory Affairs and R & D, Apex Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Chennai was the chief guest. An inter-pharmacy collegiate quiz competition was held, in which 54 teams from various pharmacy colleges in and around Chennai participated.

Rathiga, HOD, Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing, Chettinad Academy of Research & Education, Mrs.S. Ranjitham Anderson, Chief Nursing Officer, Madras Medical Mission and Dr. Priyadarshini Varadaraj, Assoc. Consultant & Asst. Prof., Dept. of General Medicine, SRIHER (DU) were the guest faculty. Prof. Kanimozhi, Madha College of Nursing was the observer from TNNMC. 112 participants attended.

Quiz for the diabetes patients
Display of awareness charts
CBG and foot assessment
Around 100 patients benefited.
