Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry conducted an Analytical Skill Development Program with the theme, ‘UV Visible Spectroscopy – from Material to Applications’ on 15^th December 2018. A hands-on-training session on ‘UV Visible Spectroscopy’ was part of the program. 50 delegates attended.

Faculty of Physiotherapy
The alumni chapter of the Faculty of Physiotherapy organized a hands-on training workshop in Role of Myofascial Continuum in Upper Quarter Dysfunctions on 12^th December 2018. Mr. G. Prabhu Raja, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Sports Sciences, MAHE, Manipal was the resource person. 20 alumni attended.

Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Technology and Research
Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Technology and Research organized the ‘2^nd Prof. S. P. Thyagarajan Endowment Oration in Biomedical Sciences, Technology and Research’ on Making Drugs out of DNA and RNA by Prof. K. N. Ganesh, Founder – Director, IISER, Tirupati on 3^rd December 2018. 354 people attended.

Dept. of Clinical Nutrition
Dept. of Clinical Nutrition conducted a regional symposium and workshop with the theme, 3Ds of Swallowing – Deglutition, Dysphagia and Diet on 30^th November & 1^st December 2018. Ms. Uthara U., Chief Dietitian, SIMS Hospital, Vadapalani, Chennai, Mr. K. V. Vijayakumar, Asst. Prof., Dept. of SLHS, Mr. A. Arun Aloysius Magesh, Administrator, Vidya Sudha, Prof. A. J. Hemamalini, Head, Dept. of Clinical Nutrition, Dr. Lakshmi Venkatesan, Assoc. Prof., Dept. of SLHS, Dr. Kundhala Ravi, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Clinical Nutrition and VIMP team, Vidya Sudha, SRIHER (DU) consisting of Ms. K. Sujatha & Ms. S. Kumudha, Special Educators, Ms. A. Kalpana, Occupational Therapist & Ms. K. Kousalya, Speech Therapist were the resource persons. 250 students & faculty members from various colleges and dietitians from various hospitals benefited.

Faculty of Pharmacy
The alumni chapter of the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a Personality Development Program on 29^th November 2018. Mr. Sakthi P. Kandan, Professional Trainer & Industrialist, Chennai was the resource person. Around 300 students and 50 alumni participated.

Depts. of Medical Surgical Nursing and Endocrinology
A Foot Care Clinic at the out-patient department of G-Block, Sri Ramachandra Hospital was established by Depts. of Medical Surgical Nursing and Endocrinology on 27^th November 2018.

Faculty of Pharmacy
Faculty of Pharmacy conducted the 57^th National Pharmacy Week Celebrations from 26^th to 29^th November 2018. Dr. L. Ramanathan, Asst. General Manager, Regulatory Affairs and R & D, Apex Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Chennai was the chief guest. An inter-pharmacy collegiate quiz competition was held, in which 54 teams from various pharmacy colleges in and around Chennai participated.

Dept. of Pharmaceutics
Dept. of Pharmaceutics conducted a workshop on Quality by Design (QbD) – Practical Approaches with the theme, ‘Basics of Quality by Design and Design Expert Software’ by Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, Faculty INSPIRE, CSIR-CLRI, Chennai on 9^thNovember 2018. 45 delegates participated.

Depts. of Nursing Foundation, Medical Surgical Nursing & Psychiatric Nursing
Depts. of Nursing Foundation, Medical Surgical Nursing & Psychiatric Nursing organized the 3^rd State Level Workshop on Focused Assessment: A Key in Nursing Practice on 2^nd November 2018. Prof.A. Rathiga, HOD, Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing, Chettinad Academy of Research & Education, Mrs.S. Ranjitham Anderson, Chief Nursing Officer, Madras Medical Mission and Dr. Priyadarshini Varadaraj, Assoc. Consultant & Asst. Prof., Dept. of General Medicine, SRIHER (DU) were the guest faculty. Prof. Kanimozhi, Madha College of Nursing was the observer from TNNMC. 112 participants attended.

Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing along with the Dept. of Endocrinology observed the World Diabetes Day with the theme, ‘The Family and Diabetes’ on 27^th November 2018. The events included were:
Skit on ‘Hypoglycemia and its effects’ by B. Sc. Nursing (Basic) II yr. students
Quiz for the diabetes patients
Display of awareness charts
CBG and foot assessment
Around 100 patients benefited.
