Dept. of Community Medicine conducted a workshop on Basic Epidemiology, Statistics, SPSS & Critical Appraisal between 28^th & 31^st August 2018. 70 research scholars participated.

Dept. of OBG Nursing

Dept. of OBG Nursing organized World Breast Feeding Week Celebration with the theme, ‘Breastfeeding: Foundation of Life’ on 6^th August 2018. 100 mothers benefited.

Sri Ramachandra Medical College

Sri Ramachandra Medical College conducted SRMC OPTIMUS ’18 – the Annual National UG Medical Conference from 30^th July to 1^st August 2018. Dr. Edwin Joe, Director of Medical Education of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the conference. Iridescence, the conference magazine was released by Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj, Founder & Priest, Tamil Maiyam Organization, Chennai. A teleconference with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow was also a part of the event. 750 students from all over the country attended.

Dept. of Spine Surgery

Dept. of Spine Surgery in collaboration with DePuy-Synthes conducted SRMC – DePuy Annual Spine Symposium & Workshop on 21^st July 2018. The course included guest lectures and a workshop on saw bone models. 120 PGs from South India participated.

Sports

Mr. Vignesh T. C., I yr., B. Sc. Bioinformatics received a gold medal in the Buck Memorial Sports Festival – 2018 in Archery – Indian Bow (College Category, 50m) on 4th August 2018 at YMCA College of Physical Education, Chennai.
