Drug Free India Campaign – 2019

We conducted the “Drug free India” campaign in the Dental Auditorium of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, organized by The Art of Living foundation supported by Government of India, many NGOs, celebrities and social activists. It was conducted on 19th Feb 2019 from 10.30AM-12.30PM.

The program had a formal launch of the campaign at our institution presided by the Advisor Academic Administration, Dr.KV Somasundaram , along with Principals of Pharmacy and Management studies.Various faculty members and students also attended the programme.Approximately 400 students of various faculties attended the event.

The dignitaries included Professor DR.KV.Somasundaram, Mr.Sadagopan Ramesh,Cricketer and Actor;Mrs.Raji Swaminathan,PHD Biotechnology and Senior Art of Living Faculty;Dr.Rajagopalan,Head of Management Studies and Dr.Chamundeeshwari,Principal,College of Pharmacy.

There was a live webcast from Chandigarh University,Hisar,Punjab from 11.40am onwards.The keynote address was given by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar.There was also a recorded speech by the Union HRD Minister.

Students actively filled the Drug free India forms and most of them were interested in joining the SWAT CLUB (Social Wellness And awareness Team). They have given excellent ideas to execute the plan to have a drug free campus.

The session concluded by the pledge taking ceremony along with the Vice Chancellor,Dean of students Dr.Balaji Singh,Senior Professors and students.
